What are the standards for different types of steel pipes?

The global steel pipe standard system presents a diversified pattern. The standards of different countries and regions have their own characteristics in terms of technical routes, performance indicators and emphasis. American standards (ASTM/API), European standards (EN) and Chinese national standards (GB) constitute the three most influential steel pipe standard systems in the world today. The three have differences in technical requirements and application scopes, but also learn from each other, and jointly promote the development and progress of global steel pipe technology. The following table introduces the standards of different types of steel pipes for reference only.

【1】Structural seamless pipes ( GB/T 8162-2008) are seamless steel pipes used for general structures and mechanical structures .
【2】Seamless steel pipe for fluid transportation (GB/T 8163-2018) is a general seamless steel pipe used for transporting fluids such as water, oil, and gas.
【3】Seamless steel tubes for low and medium pressure boilers ( GB3087-2008 ) are high-quality carbon structural steel hot -rolled and cold- drawn seamless steel tubes used to manufacture superheated steam tubes, boiling water tubes for low and medium pressure boilers of various structures, superheated steam tubes for locomotive boilers and arch brick tubes .
【4】Seamless steel tubes for high-pressure boilers ( GB5310-2008 ) are high-quality carbon steel , alloy steel and stainless heat-resistant steel seamless steel tubes used to manufacture the heating surface of water tube boilers with high pressure or above .
[5] High-pressure seamless steel pipes for fertilizer equipment ( GB6479-2000 ) are high-quality carbon structural steel and alloy steel seamless steel pipes suitable for chemical equipment and pipelines with working temperatures of -40~400℃ and working pressures of 10~30Ma .

【10】Carbon steel seamless pipes for ships (GB5213-85) are carbon steel seamless pipes used for manufacturing Class I and Class II pressure-resistant pipe systems, boilers and superheaters of ships . The working temperature of the carbon steel seamless pipe wall does not exceed 450°C, and the working temperature of the alloy steel seamless pipe wall exceeds 450°C.
