There are two main support technologies for offshore wind turbines: bottom fixed support and suspended support. The pile pipe of the fixed support is generally made of seamless steel pipe.


Fixed support requires a pile steel pipe foundation. The pile steel pipe single pile foundation consists of a seamless steel pipe steel pile with a diameter of 3 to 4.5m. The seamless steel pipe is installed 18 to 25m below the seabed, and its depth is determined by the type of seabed ground. The single pile foundation effectively extends the wind tower underwater and into the seabed. A major advantage of this foundation is that there is no need to tidy up the seabed. However, it needs to prevent the scouring of the seabed by the current, and it is not suitable for locations with boulders in the seabed. The application range of this technology is less than 25m in water depth.

Seamless steel pipes are steel pipes, which are impact-resistant, abrasion-resistant, and corrosion-resistant, with a long service life and a permanent effect (comparatively speaking).
