3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe is a common anti-corrosion technology. Anti-corrosion steel pipe refers to a steel pipe that has been treated with anti-corrosion technology to effectively prevent or slow down the corrosion caused by chemical or electrochemical reactions during transportation and use. The base materials of 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe include seamless steel pipe, spiral steel pipe, straight seam steel pipe, etc.

3PE ordinary anti-corrosion steel pipes refer to three-layer polyolefin coating (MAPEC) external anti-corrosion steel pipes, which are a commonly used anti-corrosion pipeline in China. Three-layer PE anti-corrosion structure: the first layer is epoxy powder (FBE>100um), the second layer is adhesive (AD) 170~250um, and the third layer is polyethylene (PE) 2.5~3.7mm. Other anti-corrosion methods include IPN8710, FBE epoxy powder, epoxy coal tar, etc.

For highly corrosive media, non-metallic corrosion-resistant materials are used. Some pipelines in the petroleum and petrochemical industries also use corrosion inhibitor technology. Cathodic protection technology is also common for urban underground pipelines and underground long-distance pipelines. Using paint to prevent corrosion on pipelines is a simple and easy method. The main basis for selecting paint is the quality of its performance.
3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe

Advantages of 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipes:

(1) 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipes have good sealing properties, and long-term operation can greatly save energy, reduce costs, and protect the environment.
(2) It has good corrosion resistance, simple and fast construction, and a service life of up to 30-50 years.
(3) It also has good corrosion resistance and impact resistance under low temperature conditions.
(4) It also has the characteristics of high epoxy strength, low PE water absorption (less than 0.01%) and good hot melt adhesive softness.

Ordinary steel pipes will be severely corroded in harsh operating environments, which will reduce the service life of steel pipes. The service life of anti-corrosion and heat-insulating steel pipes is also relatively long. Usually, it can be used for about 30-50 years. Correct installation and use can also reduce the maintenance cost of the pipeline network. The anti-corrosion and heat-insulated steel pipe can also be equipped with an alarm system to automatically detect leakage faults in the pipe network, accurately understand the fault location and automatically alarm.

The 3PE anti-corrosion layer combines the excellent properties of the two anti-corrosion layers of fusion-bonded epoxy powder coating and extruded polyethylene. It is a recognized pipeline anti-corrosion coating with good use effect and performance. The 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe has the advantages of light bulk density, high strength, insulation, sound insulation, flame retardant, cold resistance, corrosion resistance, and non-absorption of water. It combines the interface characteristics and chemical resistance of the fusion-bonded epoxy powder coating with the mechanical protection characteristics of the extruded polyethylene anti-corrosion layer, thereby improving their respective performance. Therefore, it is very superior as the outer protective layer of the buried pipeline. Ordinary 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe can make the life of the buried pipeline reach 50 years, and it is currently considered to be a relatively good pipeline external anti-corrosion technology internationally.

The 3PE anti-corrosion and heat-insulated steel pipe has good thermal insulation performance, and its heat loss is only 25% of that of traditional pipes. Long-term operation can still save relatively large resources, significantly reduce energy costs, and still have relatively strong waterproofness and corrosion resistance. And no additional pipeline trench is required, it can be directly buried underground or in water, the construction is simple and fast, the overall cost is relatively low, it has good corrosion resistance and impact resistance under low temperature conditions, and it can be directly buried in frozen soil in certain environments.
