3LPE Coating

3LPE Coating

The 3LPE coating consists of three layers: a fusion-bonded epoxy resin coating, an adhesive layer, and an outermost polyethylene layer. The first layer, the fusion-bonded epoxy resin layer, is greater than 100 μm thick (FBE > 100 μm). The second layer, the adhesive layer, bonds the epoxy resin layer to the polyethylene layer (AD: 170~250 μm). The third layer, the polyethylene layer, offers advantages such as waterproofing, electrical resistance, and resistance to mechanical damage (φ300-φ1020 mm).

3LPE Coating Product Introduction

Three-layer polyethylene (3LPE) coatings for steel pipes offer excellent mechanical and thermal stability, high ESCR and weather resistance, strong adhesion, high durability, UV and corrosion protection, and eco-friendliness. For pipeline infrastructure, reducing risk, maintaining durability, and ensuring performance necessitates the use of 3LPE (triple-layer polyethylene) coated pipes. With its unparalleled protective coating, 3LPE is increasingly becoming a cornerstone in industries such as oil, gas, and water transport, effectively preventing corrosion and other damage. These polyethylene-coated steel pipes can be used for long-distance transport of natural gas, crude oil, petrochemicals, and water under high pressure and high temperature.

The 3LPE coating, or three-layer polyethylene coating, is a protective system for steel pipes. It consists of three layers: fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE) as a corrosion-resistant base layer, an adhesive layer, and a final polyethylene (PE) top layer for mechanical protection. This allows the pipe to maintain strong adhesion, excellent corrosion resistance, and durability even in harsh environments, making it an ideal choice for pipelines.

Benefits of Using 3LPE Coating on Steel Pipes

3LPE (triple-layer polyethylene) coating provides excellent protection for steel pipes against moisture, chemical corrosion, and harsh soil environments, extending pipe life to over 50 years and reducing maintenance costs.

It is impact-resistant (approximately 15 joules) and temperature-resistant (-40°C to 90°C, special models up to 140°C), suitable for various water, gas, and oil pipelines. It features low emissions, environmental friendliness, reliable adhesion, quick installation, and high cost-effectiveness, and is widely used in pipeline projects worldwide.
