Epoxy Coating

Epoxy Coating

Epoxy resin coated steel pipe is a steel-plastic composite pipe made by uniformly coating the inner and outer walls with epoxy resin anti-corrosion layer using a hot-dip plastic coating process, with steel pipe as the base material. Its coating thickness is typically 0.3–1.0 mm, and its designed service life can reach over 50 years. This product combines the high strength and pressure-bearing capacity of steel with the excellent corrosion resistance and chemical resistance of epoxy resin, and is widely used in water supply and drainage, fire protection, and industrial piping systems.

Characteristics of Epoxy Resin Coatings

1. Strong Corrosion Resistance: The epoxy coating forms a continuous polymer protective layer, effectively resisting corrosion from water, soil, and chemical media.
2. Good Abrasion Resistance: The coating has high hardness and is scratch-resistant, ensuring the pipe surface is not easily damaged during transportation.
3. High Chemical Stability: It can withstand the erosion of various chemical media (compliant with ASTM D543 standard).
4. High Temperature Resistance: It can generally withstand operating temperatures of 300°F (approximately 148°C), suitable for most industrial and municipal pipelines.
5. Suitable for Drinking Water: Compliant with NSF/ANSI 61 standards, it can be used in safe drinking water delivery systems.
6. Strong Adhesion: The coating bonds tightly to the steel pipe, making it resistant to peeling or cracking (ASTM D4541 test approximately 1933 psi).
