What is ASTM A53 Grade B ERW Steel Pipe?

ASTM A53 Grade B is the material under API 5L Gr., the American Standard for Steel Pipe. It is also the American Standard material, A53 Gr. There are 3 forms in the Grade B in the American Society for Testing and Materials standard A53 steel pipe standard: seamless steel pipe, ERW welded pipe, furnace welded pipe.

ASTM A53 Grade B ERW pipes are carbon steel pipes manufactured in accordance with ASTM A53 specifications. These pipes are available in a wide range of sizes that meet ASTM, ASME and API standards, with nominal diameters ranging from ½ inch to 36 inches. ASTM A53 Grade B ERW pipes are widely used in industries such as oil and gas transportation due to their suitability for high-pressure applications. They also have a wide range of uses in hydrocarbons, automotive, boiler manufacturing and other fields. With an outer diameter of up to 24 inches, these electric resistance welded pipes are widely used in both mechanical applications and general applications such as conveying air, water and gas.
