What is a carbon steel square tube?
Square tubes are made of a variety of materials, including carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, etc. Carbon steel is the most commonly used material. According to the carbon content, it can be divided into ordinary carbon structural steel and high-quality carbon structural steel. Low carbon steel is ordinary carbon structural steel, and the carbon content is generally between 0.05% and 0.25%. Square tubes can be divided into
seamless square tubes and welded square tubes according to the production process. According to the cross-sectional shape, they can be divided into rectangular tubes and square
tubes. The most obvious difference between carbon steel square tubes and traditional square tubes is that they are made of different materials. Carbon steel square tubes are of better quality than ordinary square tubes, and have strong corrosion resistance and friction resistance.
There are many types of square tubes, which can be divided into hot-rolled seamless square tubes, cold-drawn seamless square tubes, extruded seamless square tubes, and welded square tubes according to the process. According to the material, they can be divided into ordinary carbon steel square tubes and low alloy square tubes. According to the production standards, it can be divided into national standard square tube, Japanese standard square tube, British standard square tube, American standard square tube, European standard square tube and non-standard square tube.
Square carbon seamless steel pipe tube
Seamless square tube: Seamless square tube is a round, square or rectangular steel with a hollow section and no seams around. Seamless square tube is made by perforating steel ingot or solid tube billet into rough tube, and then hot rolling, cold rolling or cold drawing. Seamless square tube has a hollow section and is widely used as a pipe for conveying fluid. Compared with solid steel such as round steel, square tube has a lighter weight when the bending and torsional strength are the same. It is an economical section steel and is widely used in the manufacture of structural parts and mechanical parts, such as oil drill pipes, automobile transmission shafts, bicycle frames and steel scaffolding used in construction.
Carbon steel square tube weight
Carbon steel square tubes are usually 7.500 to 7.650 meters long and grade 43; but other lengths and grades are also available. For your reference, kg/m refers to the number of kilograms per meter of the cross section, for example, a 40 x 40 x 3 mm (SHS) square steel hollow section (3.45 kg/m) with a length of 4.200 meters weighs (4.2 x 3.45) 14.49 kg.
Low-Carbon steel square tubes
Features of low-carbon steel:
Low-carbon steel usually refers to carbon steel with a carbon content of less than 0.25%. Due to its low strength, low hardness and good softness, it is also called soft steel. It includes most ordinary carbon structural steels and some high-quality carbon structural steels. Most of them are used for engineering structural parts without heat treatment, and some are used for mechanical parts requiring wear resistance after heat treatment such as carburizing.
The annealed structure of low-carbon steel is ferrite and a small amount of pearlite. It has low strength and hardness, good plasticity and toughness, so it has good cold formability and can be cold formed by curling, bending, stamping and other methods. In addition, this steel also has good weldability.
Characteristics of MS square tube:
1. Material: MS square tube is made of mild steel, a type of mild steel known for its durability and strength.
2. Shape: As the name suggests, MS square tube has a square cross-section. They are available in various sizes and thicknesses to meet different requirements.
3. Hollow structure: MS square tube is hollow inside, making it light in weight while maintaining structural strength. This design helps reduce the overall weight of the structure.
4. Low cost: Compared with other steel materials, low carbon steel is relatively cheap, and its lower carbon content can also reduce environmental pollution.
5. Weldable: Mild steel is easy to weld, allowing the use of MS square tubes to manufacture various structures and frames.
6. Mechanical properties: It has good plasticity and toughness, can be manufactured into various shapes, and has high strength and hardness.
